Correct! However the casting number is: 035 103 373 F and is otherwise as far as i can see, bar a few differences such as no injector ports, a water feed to the manifold in place of the air shroud port, twin oil squirters, different water jacket on the left side, and no oil drillings for hydros- the same.
Id expect the cap numbers to come out the same also.

In respect of the line boring ops to produce the bearing surfaces;
Surely the component tolerance ( cams journals) would all be tightly controlled, thus needing only the one size boring for the bearing saddles?

I cant see why there would be more than one size as tooling up for half a dozen different possibles dosent make much sense to me.
Itd be easier to simply ensure the cams had the correct journal sizes to match the head bearings.
Could turn out im wrong tho, but from checking the cam cap off the turbo engine ( a KV head) looks like it should work.
Ill know a little more later today once ive done some checks.

i can measure my KV ones if need be tony, providing i get a new battery for my digital verniers....

You could get new ones machined up if you were feeling flush.

So for the time being panick over for now and thanks to everyone who offered parts, information and advice

Regarding line boring and tolerances. Bearers and plate marks are toleranced by casting and then finished with tolerances for each bearer. Bearer to end and other bearers are not that important thats why you line bore.

I would seriously measure and check that these are in line before putting a std cam in let alone a performance ($$$$) unit. I would get a complete head and go from there, the other considereration is the face hardness as these are unlikely to match.

BTDT with various engines and learnt the expensive way that a lot of the old rules are there for a reason, But saying that if the new caps work fair play.
