Not "we pay stupid money" but "we want to sell them for stupid money". Besides, the adverts of cars that you copied are 30-40 years old, and for cars that currently are extinct, I would like to say that they are cheap - 5k for almost 40 years old car in apparently good condition, that's not much. Remember that 10 years newer UR's in similar condition are selling for twice that price. Those cars have kept some value just because they are now extinct and because they are now classic and because almost all of them are rwd. At the same time 80's ford products, which have kept value more than their metal content will be cosworth sierras and capri's, and that's about it. So, if you're going to buy and store 1.1 fuckus, you will have to store it for 40 years, and during that time it will lose 90% value anyway [remember about inflation]

P.S. Proposition for saving 1.1 fuckus reminded me about low miles morris marina thread

Brand new, no chance of making a profit, you need to pick something that's had its big depreciation hit and is totally unappreciated in its own time.

The only thing can see this method making a profit on is like Ken says, something big, French and unpopular, or the final Saab 9-5 from a couple of years ago.

Alternatively, how about one of the last british-made Transit vans?

Good luck finding one though - weren't they built to order?

there are a few 'half' decent modern cars but all can be crushed IMO!

If I had £20k burning a hole and was going to speculate on moth balling a car out of the showroom with a view to making a profit on it in 15 years time, then I think that that would be one gamble that really wouldn't pay off.

I have a guilty secret, I'm one of the few people that actually like Metros. Hard to believe the oldest ones are now 33 years old (assuming you can find one that is).
