Hi!
Yes I wish I could do some jobs myself but here it's so difficult, I have no place where I can do it, it's not the same as the UK! I have a parking place here that I rent it's under cover but you are not allowed to make repairs or even wash your car there and also on the street, and today it is -17c so you see why I have to use a garage. I still can't understand what the mechanic would gain by not changing my oil and filter.

Changing the oil filter on an oil change is a MUST. There is a pressure relief valve in the filter and if this becomes blocked the filter is by-passed completely, allowing all the crap in the system to circulate rather than get trapped.

A filter is only a few £, seems crazy they would cgharge u all that and miss something so fundamental!

Didnt realise your conditions and rules out there mate...

They would save themselves the cost of using any of their new oil and a filter.
If they did this on enough customers' cars, they could make quite a profit.

I would love to come to their homes and see how these people live, from taking other peoples money for no work done.........

i use an engine flush when changing the oil, the type where you refill the engine and let it idle not the additive type. it would suprize you how much crap comes out with that. it changes from a lovely honey colour to black within 5 mins of idling!! drain that then refill and change the filter as the norm

Flushed my 2nd q90's engine.Got rid lots of crap, but became tappety.
175,000 on clock,so I think the crap was keeping the engine quiet.
