I do believe Simmo was looking for 306ps, where 1ps= 0.986bhp. Therefore the bhp figure by my reckoning is 301.72.

Most of the UK press quote the Sport as 306bhp, but as Gordon rightly states the car was 306ps (pferdestarke) - German Horsepower, which coverts at 1 horsepower = 1.013 869 663 273 pferdestarke - which gives the Sport quattro a rating of 306 pferdestarke = 301.813 942 249 872 horsepower.
