I've been looking loosely at Borbet A's and I reckon this price is actually quite competetive. But like anything I would want to check them out thoroughly, may be a bit too good to be true perhaps??. Seen them typically going upwards of £400 which is more than I would want to pay.

I have also seen them with ET38 sizes

So if I understand correctly on ET35 your wheels will push outwards towards the wheel arch. Add in the wider wheel and according to the calculator I provided you are looking to move each wheel towards the outside wheel arch by 29mm.

So you will need to check you have enough space to tolerate this movement. Don't forget your tyres should not protude beyond the wheel arch. That is illegal and a nice policeman may be tempted to have a word. Of course fitting wheel arch extensions gets around that.

Personally I'd take a punt on ET35, but that's not a reccomendation, endorsement blah blah blah. Get your tape measure out
Ok,.. what offset do i have on the standard 14's at the moment? is it 45??

ET45. If you take a wheel off it will be stamped on the inside.

Ford Centre bore is 63.3, so it is big enough to go over the Audi 57.1

Ideally you will need some 57.1 Spigot rings to fit in the backs though.

If thats the case then spigot rings will be a definate need otherwise you will just be holding the wheel on by the bolts. At the very least it will cause horrendous wheel vibration and will be downright dangerous. You really do not want a wheel nut giving way at any speed.

ok,... a bit more info i can add to the thread., My bro's old type 85 2.2 GT was lowered and was fitted with a set of 15 inch speedlines (6 spoke star shape) I think they are 7 inch wide?

They were the ET45 version, and had 205/50/15 falken tires.

They seemed to fit ok.

What size are the wheels on 20vcqdriver's car?

Running 7.5 x16 should be ok. I'm running 8x15 on my b3 80 with no problems at all and the car is lowered

right.. i've been on the phone to her & turns out she only lives a couple miles from me. Result!

So i'll be popping down tomorrow and take a look! At least this means i won't waist too much fuel just to go and have a looksy! I'll take the trolley jack with me and try them on for size. This shouldn't be a problem with out the spigots... just for a feeler of how they fit, should it?.

If they look good and fit the car ok, this could turn out to be a very lucky find i think.

In fact, according to her profile on SMAPCC shes also single too! lets hope shes fit, eh! LOL
