Biggest issue tho, when I sent off my licence for change of address they lost it. After 9months of messin it finally arrived Great, except with only provisional entitlement!!!! After a legal battle and getting stopped for driving otherwise than in accordance with my "licence" I finally got an apology (that the CPS forced them to give). I had to retakle my whole driving test though!!!!! Including hazard aware thingy and theory!!! When I sat down at a computer for my hazzard thing my FECKING name was wrong on the screen! SOme muppet there then just tapped in and re typed it - shows how they cock up so easy. Caused me 2 years of grief and I even had to take a B+E test so I could tow a trailer as I lost my Grandfather rights!
I'll never trust them again. They bare faced lied in court about it, they were shown up for it but I suffered NOT them! I feel for people on Road Wars and Traffic Cops on TV when the "computer says no" about their licence - been there!!! Total bunch of incompetenat idiots.

This has a been a problem for a while, especially for lorry and bus drivers. If you lose your licence, or need to replace it for whatever reason your "new" licence often has various entitlements missing from it. This can be a problem if you rely on your bus/lorry entitlement for a living as through no fault of your own you are now out of a job. The DVLA will only restore your licence if you have proof of passing the test, otherwise you have to retake it. Brilliant.

On the other hand people have been known to have categories randomly added, i.e bus, lorry, motorbike e.t.c. All "legal" too, dispite a test never having been taken.

No wonder people want to blow them up.

And you can't give 'em proof as you have to send your pass certificates off to get ya licence. They "lose" them in the mean time!!!! That's what happened to me.
Not that I'm bitter you understand.....

They wont accept photocopies, they have to be originals. Basically, if this happens to you the only way round it is to retake your test, which you could fail, of course.

If you have photocopies of the original documents then the dvla have no choice but to accept them

Im pretty sure they dont, atleast I know of cases where they havent accepted them. Maybe they are "meant" to, if they play by the rules!
