I have never used any other forum only this one. I have found there is no need to change because this one is full off friendly people that are helpful kind and we have fun at the same time. We all have the same interest in cars and I would have been in queer st if it wasn’t for your help. I would like to thank all members of classic Audi
For there support and may it continue in 2009 |

I love this place to bits, and like many others on here it's the only forum I post on. I love the banter, the passion for our car's and just the really great vibe and buzz there is about the place

Nah it's true though Panda, every last word of it. I used to frequent 'other' forums but simply don't anymore, why. Because it became very elite, everyone seems to be building a shortened version of a particular car ( do you like how I am avoiding name calling ), everyone knows more than everyone else and it has just become a non - too - friendly place. On hear, so far, and long (and I mean long) may it continue, we have allsorts. From Audis base models through to the 20v RR's we now even have ex works car owners. Why, because we all get on, have a common ground, and more importantly, we want to be friendly and have some fun. Nowt wrong with that in my book. And as Jaytee states, we're all lovely!!

Absolutely the best VAG related forum, hands down.
Friendly, helpful, knowledgable, and aware of the "not sure" factor. The actual interface, new messages, recent, sections all brilliant. It's really easy to stay current. Even if you've been away. PM's. Coxy, take a bow. Moderators, many thanks. Contributors, all the best. Call me brown nosed if you will, but I'm happy. |

I've resisted (up until now!) adding anything to this thread, but hey ho, I will do!
Firstly, Rich: Shoutboxes = waste of time and bandwidth, and it detracts from the general forum postings, subject closed (already told Amanda about these!!!!!!!) Ok, now I've got that bit done, the reason I set up this place was because there wasn't anywhere to go if you like early Audi's. Simple! I frequent(ed) the S2forum as I have an RS2 and out of all the forums out there for the S/RS models, I found this one the most informative and active for my needs. But when I bought a 1979 Audi 80 and a '72 hundred, there was no where around. Sure, there is Audifans, but it's not geared up for the early cars and is mainly based around the newer stuff. There's forums over in Europe, but it's taken 40 years to master my native tongue and I'm not about to start to learn another language just to enter into to idle banter!!! So, simple, register the name Classic-Audi (and ClassicAudi) and persuade my mate Si to build a forum for me! He's good like that! Yes, I'll openly admit to sending pms to people via Audifans (and got myself banned for it in the process, but that's water under the bridge now!!) just to let people know about this place and also a few people on the S2 forum (who didn't ban me cos they are nicer over there!). At this point I didn't know about the quattro forum either, but then again, I didn't have a quattro and my interest in Audi's are mainly based around the early stuff. That got the first wave of forum users registered! Now, me and Si don't agree on design type things very often and he didn't agree with the colour scheme I chose. Now, he's the webby tekkie guy and I'm the arty kind so there will always be a different train of thought! I wanted it as out of all the colour schemes available, to me it represented the Audi Sport colours the best, a colour scheme I intended to incorporate into the site. So, against his better judgment, he went with the red and knocked up a pretty neat logo for someone who has no interest in Audi's (he's a V8 yank drag race man!). The whole concept/idea was to create an advert free/politics free friendly forum. Don't like corporate advertising on forums as it can/does cause problems especially if someone has problems with one of the advertisers. It leaves the admin with a bit of a dilemma! Anyway, after a few months this forum really started to grow and again after a brief mention in an issue of Audi driver magazine earlier last year, and has successfully continued to grow to what we have today. Anyway, a forum is more than just the person who set it up. Doesn't take a genius to set up a forum. The success of this place is down to everyone who frequents it. Whether you come here just to read or whether you are one who actively participates in the mindless banter, without everyone else, there wouldn't be a forum. Maybe we have found a recipe for success and hopefully that the success will continue to grow through 2009 and beyond. and a big thanks to alll those brown-nosers, but you'll still have to buy yer own Breakfast if you come to a Breakfast Club meet! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
