Default If they are good enough for Tiger tanks.........

Battery went again,a couple of mornings ago.
Ordered a new Varta Silver E44 this morning and it was delivered for 12.00.
Came in from work and fitted it.
Website said,it was a fit for my car.
The dimensions were ok,but the clamp doesn't grip it properly(The lip on the bottom of the battery doesn't come up high,as my old one.).To fill the small gap I've had to use a thin piece of wood. This is a temporary fix,but would prefare a clamp that fits.
Can you get, different types(shape) of clamps?
Car starts so quick now and my headlights, seem brighter. My CD's play at 45 now, instead of 33.
Would anew battery improve,engine performance/efficiency(mpg?)Car just seemed,crisper.
Would the older battery not sending enough juice to engine management system, cause problems??
Thanks.

If your battery is powering anything in your car while engine is running, then it's time to fix your alternator

Many batteries have a removable strip at the lip/base......yours may have been removed. Are there 3 small holes at this part of the lip? If the holes are there I can send you a couple of strips.
