Thanks for the support guys!

I agree Coxy, It isn't the same, but it feels pretty close, althought I'm telling myself it is better 3000odd less chemicals inhaled, and for the most part it has been a painless transition. I was still smoking what I call the important fags ie wake up, after meals and bedtime. for a few days, yesterday was my first day with no real ones. And as yet today no real ones lol (its early yet lol)
I'm sure I had folk tortured on an e-cig forum for a few days asking a load of questions and done a lot of reading.

So the kit I ended up with going on the experience of others was this

http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/the%2Dve...xe%2Dkit%7E151

I did spend quite a bit extra and get a few of different types of cartridges, tanks etc to try and find what worked best for me, so I have wasted a bit of money on one hand to find a soloution, hopefully tho it was a good plan as I seem to have found something that works. (for now atleast)

I also got the high nicotine strength e-liquids for it to give myself a fighting chance.

With this kit instead of a few hours I was getting out of the cig-a-like style kits you get, I am still using one of the batteries from 11 am yesterday without having had to re-charge.

Awesome, I have no excuse to go back to real cigs for now lol

Dan.

I have tried everything over the years, except the tablets which I'm not allowed for health reasons.

I think smoking is as much a comfort thing to me as an addiction, and this is maybe why this seems to be working so painlessly for me.

It is definately worth a try for health reasons alone, I just took the attitude that if it works it works, If i badly want a real fag i'll have one, but as yet no, on my second day with no tobacco and not even wanting one with this. Which is great, as there hasnt been one out of my hand in my waking hours for years lol.

Thanks
Dan.

The hardest thing for me giving up was breaking the fag break habits, those times in the day when you routinely stopped for a cig break. So there would be times like first thing in the morning, mid morning trip to the smokers shelter etc. The hardest point was always the time when I got in from work because that was the time I usually reached for a smoke because I needed to wind down. But I also figured out the craving moment went very quickly if I did something. So being concious of those fag break times meant I could take concious avoidance actions and within minutes the craving feeling was gone.

In essence there is the nicotine addiction to break and the routine habit to break and for me the routine was the harder nut to crack because that was driven by an emmotional response.

It really is about not letting your emotional mind (go on, have a smoke, one wont hurt, your doing all right your not smoking as much, at least youre cutting down) win the argument againsts your rational mind (these things are bad for you in every way).

Conciously supporting your rational mind against your emmotional mind will see you win the day and give them up

Dunno why you lot started in the first place....crazy feckers!
My mother kindly smoked all the way through her pregnancy with me. Had some serious illnesses as an infant, as a result , I think.
My immune system seems to be crap and any good disease seems to delight in flattening me !
She and my Stepfather smoked like chimney's through to my teens which appears to have given me a lung capaciity of an asthmatic ant !
God bless Silk Cut.

Our first came as sort of a surprise, smoking, drinking and partying.... She's got a rock solid health.. Our second was planned and "grown" according GP's orders... He's got allergies and asthma... Immune tests from their navel cord thingy both came out 100% wrong... Figure that...

youve got to want to stop. thats the key.
i dont want to, but then i dont smoke much. 6-8 a day, and golden verginia at that.

tbh i dont think id have much difficulty in stopping. i mean if ive got a cold i stop smoking while it passes and then go back to it.....

Left alone i smoke 20+... Sitting in a meeting with pocket full of cigarettes for 5 hours - no problem, no craving... Sitting in the garden out of smokes i start to panic... Weird...
