Are you thinking of the Audi V8?

European market only, not sure when they appeared , but they never came here to the best of my knowledge. Later 20v cars were all sport bodied, as were V8s.

My 200 has wheel arch extensions-I assumed that a previous owner had put them on??
It had fondmetal alloy wheels which were replaced as they were damaged

The only stock 200 that had wider arches (if you count rolled arches as wider) was the 200 20v version which were never made in RHD form. There was also the V8 which being a type44 sometimes gets confused for a 200. I believe both the 20v and V8 came with BBS rims standard and was an option on the rest. If you've seen a RHD 200 with wider arches, it's been customised or was a Treser version. I guess Audi deemed the 144mph 200 fast enough not to have to resort to making a special sport version.

That pic is of a 20v version but Bond drove a 10v saloon and a 10v avant, both pre-facelift in that movie.
