Good day as always, I quite liked the plot this year opposite the NSU's and plenty of passing traffic going to the track and back, but alas our car was not happy, got down there fine but after doing the family lap at lunchtime there was a knocking from the engine, and it seemed a little down on power, turned out the cambelt tensioner had seized and the belt had slipped.

We were the last to leave Castle Combe - Neil Birkett from Audi Driver came over to have a word after he'd taken all the club plot signs down which was nice of him and after 2 recovery trucks later we arrived home at half 11.

Worth pointing out though that Footman James breakdown cover was impressive, we were attended within the hour at Castle Combe and the relay truck at Frankley Services phoned me 10 ten minutes before we arrived to confirm he was there waiting for us. Bearing in mind this is what I do for a living - it was good service.

And I'm thankful the belt didn't let go, at least the engine will still work, but I am ready to get the 16V B3 back out, so this may get fixed, SORNED and I'll be Audiless until next spring when hopefully I can start spending a few quid on the B3 and get it up and running for next season.
