If you claim for an accident on your insurance and the insurers deem the vehicle a total loss, then the the car becomes the property of the insurers. Some insurers let you buy the car back off them for a price for you to repait.

Its probably got slam panel and perhaps slight inner wing damage, plus the cost of transport it will be a loss maker unless you have friends in the trade and some spare parts knocking about...

i did speak to the guy last night and he said he hit a bus going about 15mph wasnt it big enough to see ???

I've done this a couple of times so know the score well. If you want the car back then they deduct the value of the salvage from your final pay-out. They do not ask for the cash.

In this case I expect the they valued the salvage at sub £100 or even nothing as the insurers are liable for the cost of retrieving said salvage which in this case would be more than it's worth.

I'm very sorry to hear that Groomus has been pissed about, what a tosser!!!
