Default bloody rain, Archie's pissed himself AGAIN

YES he is at it again, as soon as it rains heavily the WR passenger side footwell gets a soaking.

I am REALLY starting to get pissed off with this now, I can only use him 2 days of the year it doesnt rain up here.

No move then jokes thanks

checked around the fusebox, its bone dry, carpet coming down from up under the dash is dry, transmission tunnel carpet is dry, behind the glovebox looks dry as well, the screen is dry inside.

there is what looks like a split between the fusebox and the top of the heater matrix, along the plenum chamber as I would call it where would this lead to?
Also, the black cover isnt exactly in the best of nick either.

on the inside of the wing, there is a hole cut out in the wing so I assume this is for drainage..... surely it couldnt be getting in here could it?

I re-sealed the hole for the bonnet cable release so its not coming in from there.

Anyone got some good ideas please because I am at my whits end having to bail him out when he gets wet.

thanks

the big holes in the inner wings are for drainage rich, just keep em clear of leaves. My white one did the same as yours and i tracked it down to the windscreen, it had a new screen and rubber put in and cured it so the screen rubber may have moved or been put in badly on mine...just a thought as i checked the usual bonnet pull routing etc

Get inside and have someone spray the car on firts the left side front and then the right side.
Get a good torch to have a look under the dash with and see if you can locate it that way.

thanks Folks.

Gabriel I'll relieve you of the black plastic thing that covers the matrix please.

Screen.... the screen was removed during prior body repairs. It looks well sealed, the door membrane on the drivers door was supposed to have been replaced when they did the door window mec. Apparently the plastic membrane doesnt keep water out.... its part of soundproofing!!!!!

its just the amount of water getting in, when i push my fingers into the carpet it reaches my first knuckle

no leaves, birds nest under my bonnet but I cant see inside the drain hole to see if its been disturbed during body repairs.

Water ingress is a TW*T because it could be anywhere and not where you think it would be coming from

where's my eductor?

Have you checked?? I have heard of this being a problem leading to water ingress. I wouldn't take the words of a garage at face value tbh

soon find out, thanks Martin

it was parked nose down in the drive if this gives a clue. I wondered if it a sunroof drain issue?

so thats 3 Audi's NEEDING fettling.

1) Archie wants to join the submarine service!!!!

2) RS4 has shreaded a front tyre..... awaiting 2 new to arrive this weekend, because its such a low profile (255/35/18's) its dificult to tell if it needs pumped up, soon found out when I went over a cats eye!!!!!!!! tyre on the inside has been worn down to nearly bald and the wires coming through!

3) cabrio has a warped passenger side front disc and possibly a knackered drop link so thats back at the dealers again!!

Helen is using the Aygo.... I think I'll get one, it hasnt gone wrong in 56k miles. got 30k miles from last set of tyres as well.35 quid a tank from empty and does nearly 450 miles on a tank with a light foot. 35 quid road tax......

see where I am going on this.

SELL THE AUDIS and get a noddy car

I'll have dry feet and a few quid left in my pocket

ok, spoken to body shop, taking Archie in this afternoon, go home and swap wheels on the RS.... THANKS Mum She'll follow me to body shop then take me home
