Default S2 ABY Water Manifold 034121187

Hi folks

By chance, has anyone got a serviceable ABY (think it’s the same on AAN/ADU) water manifold.

Item 26

And it sits here.

Ours has sprung quite a spectacular leak. (Seen piddling down onto ‘30’ short hose in the diagram.

Alternatively, does anyone know if new or after market have an alternative? (I know!)… As this is still in daily use. (Well, was, until this)!

All suggestions welcome.

Kind regards
Ian.

You can probably get it welded.

Yes guessing it’s corroded.

Got a replacement one from Tango123 on the S2Forum.

We’ve had a nightmare with the cars lately.
S2 water manifold exploded.
Ur failed MOT on wishbone bushes on Friday, then, literally as it arrived back from the MOT we watched the passenger side headlight blow.
The S3 had an Evac fault again (it was all replaced about 4-months ago),, got that cleared whilst watching the Quattro fail, went to start the S3 to come home…Battery flat/dead … Even though it’d just driven 9-miles. We suspect the evac fault was actually caused by the low/failing battery.

Incredible day Friday.

That's good to hear. The black seal is also a VW Golf part so readily available

That's quite a run of bad luck. Sorry to hear it.

The failing battery may well be the cause of your other issue on the S3. My A6 battery failed earlier this year (dropped a cell or 2 I think) and the lowered voltage caused all manner of faults.
All rectified themselves with a new battery and judicious use of the delete function on my code reader.

Maybe you should use the RallyRep as your daily!!

Ian,
This might sound like an awful bodge but you might be able to repair the leak with a product called JB WELD. It's a filled two-part epoxy that is both waterproof and petrol / oil proof. I used it to repair the cast inlet manifold that had somehow separated from the cast iron exhaust manifold of my 1937 Morris 8. They are cast togther in one piece but are well known to separate after about 60 years....
I've also used it to fabricate an "in tank" fuel filter for the same car and four or five years on is still good.
I used the "Marineweld" version available here:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114747961...Bk9SR6C0ttjwYg

as well as dozens of others.
Chris.

Thanks Chris. I’ll certainly look into repairing the old one as a spare.
