Default Classic Audi Videos

I thought you might all like to see this recent video from Auto Express - a lovely quattro 'mega test'. The highlight, a drive in Walter Röhl's S1E2. What a visceral experience!

I will add other classic Audi videos along the way. Please feel free to do the same.

James, Did you catch my recent video recalling the memory of the convoy we had to Audi Driver International in 2009. If you look at my red 80 Sport you'll see wheels you now have on yours.

Yes Dave, your video was a blast. What a convoy - great memories

I've got another video of the Audi Sport quattro S1E2.
A recent, well presented video with fantastic sound. What a thing!

A preview of Audi's assault on the 1989 IMSA GTO Championship with the 90 quattro GTO.

I believe these tubular framed race cars only shared the roof of the B3 90! Not sure about that - those lights look familiar. They even have the circular boot lock!

Originally weighing just 900kg, I understand they had to take on an extra 300kg of weight ballast.

In race spec, power was about 720hp from an Audi 2.2L 20v inline 5 turbo with the quattro drivetrain providing the 'unfair advantage'. Boll**ks - the competitors were simply 'out-engineered'.

I've started looking for the original Amerian TV coverage of the races. Some full races are available on YouTube. Good racing!

Anyway, here's the preview

Audi enter North American road racing in 1988, joining the Trans-am Series with the Audi 200 quattro.

An insightful look at the story from the American perspective.

Interesting! I didn't know much about Audi's American motorsport success in the late 80s. Anyone know if it was televised in the UK? Picking up on it now, I've just realised how different the Audi '88 and '89 cars were... although still both straight 5, turbo & quattro

Below - the '88 200 quattro Trans-am and the '89 90 IMSA GTO
