Hi all,
I have had my catalyst stolen from my URS6 (ANN engine code I believe). So can anyone suggest where I could get a replacement, or maybe get something made bespoke. My tame garage man does not think it is feasible to get one made bespoke without having one to copy necessary dimensions from to start with. Trying to get the car back on the road after a few years of neglect by me. Thank you Philip |

Buy a good quality sports Cat and get them to fit that, about your only option unless you lucky enough to find a good second hand one.

Thanks, yes, that may be the best/only option, but pipework will still need to be bent to fit.

I appreciate it's a pain, but any half decent exhaust fabricator would have that sorted in about two hours.
Unfortunately the Cat's on some of our cars are now very valuable as scrap. I won't mention which ones are worth the most in case someone of the wrong persuasion happens to be reading this. Some however are worth nearly three time's what yours was worth.

Both.
Car had been standing outside for a long time...so I don't know how recently it happened. I thought the phenomenon had gone away, but I gather it has made a come-back. Still looking/hoping to get replacements, but my wallet wont like it. |

I believe the Urs cats are the same as aby S2. I have a single left aby cat and a home made de cat right pipe you could use to get you going or as templates. The Left cat is empty.

Pretty sure your correct there Dave, I think they've got different part numbers but are in fact interchangeable.
Unfortunately this is still a major problem and isn't going to go away due to the price of the rare earth metals absolutely rocketing over the past couple of years. It's the Palladium content that's worth the money. I've sold the Cat's off two of my cars as I know I can replace them with good quality sports ones and still be quid's in. Which given the Cat's I sold were 30 years and in one case partially blocked makes good sense to me. Hell, I sold the Cat off a scrap 1.4 Clio recently for nearly £200! There's gangs in London that drive around with a quick action alloy trolley jack and 40V battery rip saw who'll case a street once, then turn around and have the most desirable Cat off and in the boot of their car in about 30 second's. I've seen video footage of them in action the buggers! A couple of breakers yards recently got done over by the police down there as their sole business was trading in these nicked items. I have a very good friendly scrap Cat man who I trade with, he's Polish and does great deals, all above board. ![]()

Dave,
Thank you for your positive response, that sounds like my best option so far. Well, my only option so far! I have sent you an email with more information. Just hope everyone else on the forum can take this as a warning and is more cautious than I was. |
