Default 1992 Audi 80 8CB4 2.0 £1550
Seller Type : Private
Vehicle Make : Audi
Vehicle Model : 80
Price : £975
Location : Castle Donington
Additional Details : V5C (Logbook) ,MOT'd

1992 Audi 80 2.0 8CB4, just under 70,000 miles. 12 months MoT.
Usual spec: Electric front windows, remote rear view mirror adjustment. A very loud alarm. ABS etc
£2000 spent on it over the past couple of years including a very recent clutch and cambelt change with all documents to back it up.
The following will be included:
The original steel wheels,
Assorted spares in the shed, which I'll sort and list later,
An electric polisher + some detailing liquids.
Audi 80 1491 Haynes manual.

On the downside, there's an intermittent squeak/light rattle at idle from somewhere in the cambelt area when the engine's hot. It disappears when the revs are increased slightly.
The car had been parked up for a couple of years before I bought it in 2014 and, being red, it faded. Most of it has been restored by polishing and waxing but there are still blemishes. There's some dent damage in the rear offside wing area (not in my ownership) and some cretin keyed the offside doors a couple of years ago. There are stop-gap touch-up repairs to the areas. The boot lid needs a partial respray, as does a blemished spot on the bonnet. A coded Tornado Red aerosol and touch-up kit is included.
The alloy wheels could do with a refurb.
The driver's seat has a cover due to a worn side bolster but other than the things noted, the car's in good condition for its age.
The heater blower only works on max. Resistors need replacing.
There's a sun roof that I've never bothered opening and the ProCon safety system (which has never been put to use!)
There are some MoT advisories, which you can see on the gov MoT checker.
This would make a great restoration project for someone with a garage.
£975.

The imgur images at the bottom of my post should work OK one at a time, moonwatcher. Might your adblocker be stopping them?

Update as I can't edit the title:
I'll let it go for £1550 as I need the insurance no-claims discount for another car.

I need the Audi gone quickly so £975.00.
I've got nowhere to park it without insurance.
Advert update: I've noticed a pink anti-freeze stain after seeing the coolant level was down. It appears to be coming from the block plastic manifold flange. I think there's a spare in my shed somewhere but it may not have an O ring.
The engine has started running lumpily for a minute or two from cold. It could do with a good tune and probably new spark plugs and air & fuel filters. I'll throw in a Gunson diagnostic code reader and Audi PDF workshop servicing manual.

Sounds like a great buy for someone at that sort of money.

I hate to say it but you would probably shift it via eBay for at least £1K, though whether or not you can tolerate selling a car on there is another matter.

Regardless, good luck with the sale.

The lumpy running is, I suspect from lack of use? And the coolant leak you mention can be repaired with a 10mm spanner and a 50p O-ring.

Thanks, KS.
Ah, yes, eBay ... I put it on there on a three-day buy-it-now sale at £1550, got 35 watchers but no takers. Then eBay charged me a £15 insertion fee and I would have had to pay their cut on top if it had sold. First and last time I do that.
I've got it on Gumtree at the moment at a fixed price of £975 and been blitzed by pathetic offers from people with foreign-sounding names and 'what's your best price' enquiries. I told the last one my best price was £2000. :-)
I've got nowhere to work on the car or I'd have done some of the work needed myself. I'm lucky to even find a parking space in the narrow lane outside my house. Strangely, the lumpy running started just after I replaced the grey coolant sensor to fix a dead temp gauge. Coincidence? The blue ECU sensor was replaced a month ago, I wonder if it's faulty. Time to get the Fluke out.
Just as soon as the Audi goes, I can cancel the insurance and take out a full NCD policy one a little Corsa Life I've got stored at my local garage. I love old Audi 80s but not right now with the price of fuel.
Cheers.
