Default First Concert and Favorite Concert?

This forum has definately stirred up some bits o' the past.

So just for the fun of it.

What was your first concert/ show?

What was the best/ your favorite?

Mine was the Kinks, 1983 "Come Dancing Tour"
and the best Stevie Ray Vaughn 1989 with the Stray Cats who got in a fist fight and didn't show so Stevie played extra long. The show was outdoors, on a small lake, in August, thunder and lightning, hot as hell. Half the audience was barely dressed.

First concert was Spear of Destiny at Nottingham Rock City - 1983

Best concert was Faithless in Athens in 2001 (followed closely by about 30 other Faithless gigs!)

First was Gary Numan at the then Hammersmith Odeon. Was only 12,in total awe of the guy.Went backstage after too!

Fave gig was seeing Jools Holand at Nottingham Theatre Royal in 2003.Amazed at Gilson Lavis's drumming, not so much the pianist

Worst gig was Alexander O Neil at Wembley Stadium,£40 for 45 minute gig!!! BAAAAAAAAH!

Saw James Brown at the V Festival a few years ago and his opening before he even came on stage was about that long! What a superb show man he was for his age!

I'm going to say two, i saw Depeche mode(construction time again tour) and Tears for Fears in the same week. I cant remember for the life of me which one was first.
And my favourite one ...this is tough ...but i will go for the last one...Madness bournemouth BIC last year. I didn't stop singing or dancing for nearly 2 hours!!

First was Sade at the now defunct Birmingham Odeon in 1984.

Best was Lisa Stansfield at the Lowry Centre in Salford Quays in 2007 (I think, might have been late 2006) - my god what a voice! Never got chance to see her in the '80s and this one off gig more than made up for that.

Worst - well that would be a tie between The Who - who were the special guests at the VW Transporter 60th birthday event at the Hannover factory in Oct 2007. Roger Daltrey's voice has definately gone. Mind you, it did only cost me about 10 Euros.

joint worst - a recent concert here at Auckland Zoo with Tony Hadley (ex Spandau Ballet) and Paul Young. Same reason as above - can no longer hit the notes. They opened with a massacred cover duet of Don Henley's "The Boys of Summer" and it went downhill from there on! In the end went for a wander around the zoo and left early.

First was Paul McCartney at Wembley Arena back in 1989.....

Favoutires and this is difficult part as I have seen so many bands and more than once....

Metallica
Stone Temple Pilots
Soundgarden
Alice in Chains
Faith No More
The Black Crowes
Queens of the Stone Age
Clutch
Cathedral
Love / Hate
Prong
Tool
Rival Schools

Much prefer small venues with lots of atmoshere

Probably easiest to say my worst and most disapointing gig of all time was The Smashing Pumpkins farewell tour at Wembley Arena - utter cack and the sound was rubbish also... lol

first ever was Nazareth , supported by Saxon at Leicester Monfort when i was about 12, but soon followed up by Pink Floyd at earls court. £7.50 for a ticket- my Gran nearly died of shock!!
Best ever? hard one - The jam at bingley hall? happy Mondays at city's in the park in Manchester or maybe orbital at Glastonbury. Take yer pick!
Have to agree though the smaller venues are usually better.
Best gig i never went to?
Some Manc band I'd never heard of playing a pub in Leeds (cant remember its name now). Cos I'd not heard of them didn't go with mates..
You could sit on the bar and nearly touch the band.
Went on over the next few months to release a pretty decent debut album- definitely Maybe- it was oasis- doh!!
