Hi. I'm restoring a 1986 Type 44 Audi 100 turbo diesel in Ireland. I want to tidy up the wheel trims as they are a bit scuffed etc.. Does anyone have a paint code or know where i could get the paint code for the trims?
When I'm finished i'll post a few pics of the car. Thanks for all your help so far with other queries. This is a great site. |

Sorry, I don't have a paint code, but assuming you may want to keep close to originality, my type 44's (1987) hub caps weren't so much silver, but more of a sandy shade....
I may be wrong, but I thought silver became more prevalent with a change to the hub caps design, post 1987. ![]() |

Those pre-88 hub caps are ugly IMO. The post-88 ones only slightly less so.
Consider putting your efforts into finding some period OEM alloys. I've got Ronals - 6J*14 size means I can share tyres with the steels as necessary. |

Thanks. Yea. i tend to agree. i have a set of Audi alloys on it but i think they are from a later model maybe the 88 onwards.. I'll take a photo of them and send on... I think they are too modern for this car which I would like to keep original.. Fair point though. I like the ronals.

The parts listing says Zermatt. The code (V7T) is different as it's for plastics.
