Bluetooth stereo problems - Audi 80 cabriolet

I have a Sony DSX-A410BT in my Audi 80. It's been perfect until I upgraded from a iphone 6 to X. Now whenever I get in the car and go to play music through my phone it sounds like the music is skipping for the first 2 minutes, then it works fine.

I've tried re-setting and installing everything but unsure what to try next. Any ideas?
