Default Cruise control system for 90 2.3E (NG)

As per title,

All parts needed to retro fit cruise control to a B3 90 2.3E (NG engine)

Best place to look may be ebay.de, i got a complete system for an ng 90 from there a few months ago from a Polish seller. Also got my electric sunroof fixed by buying a motor from the sane seller.

i had to go about adapting my purchase to fit my kv engine which needed a different bracket for the actuator and a different length throttle arm, sourced both of those from audi tradition. The ng was easier to find a cruise control system for.

The only other issue you will have is any such kit will likely be for a left hand drive car, i also had to find a way of mounting the vacuum pump in the engine bay. Found a suitable bracket in a B5 A4 2.4 V6 at the scrappy which utilises a similar hella system.

I have got the old actuator bracket for the ng engine should you be in need of it, unfotunately the throttle arm i have for the ng isnt useable as it is too worn although its there as a reference if you need it.

It was about £80 plus postage i think. The german for cruise control is "tempomat"! Good luck!

NG was also rarely available with cruise control. 20v or V6 more likely. You can go as well for these. I fabricated pump mount using a picture I found in internet, and I had tu fabricate mount for throttle actuator when I switched to 2.0 intake manifold, as I had the stuff from 2.3.

By the way, you probably will need new throttle as well. There were two types of throttles, basic one, and one for cruise control with arm which is pulled by actuator, and which opens throttle while keeping throttle cable without any movement.



Pedal switches requires inserts to fix them in their positions, unless you want to improvise putting strips of duct tape there. Also don't forget to test mechanical part on the table, it's far easier to fix problems out of the car; pedal switches are likely to be leaky.

My car has throttle body pictured in the right of your photo, a bit of a head start maybe lol.

Food for thought!

Out of interest why have you changed to 2.0 intake manifold?

Theory says longer intake means maximum torque at lower revs, while shorter intake more top end power. As for reality, the difference was that I wouldn't try to judge, in case there's placebo effect present When the engine will be running again, it will have 2.3 manifold, afterwards I'll try 2.0 manifold, being able to measure torque, and some other different things. Only God knows when that will happen, as I'm doing nothing towards my audi, and now I have mk2 golf in addition to my bicycles...
