As a 14 year old back in about 1960 I read my first Bond book; I quickly progressed through the rest of Ian Flemings spy stories which were very racey and masochistic for an "innocent" youngster of that era.
So for me I think the first couple of films were the best as they portrayed Bond as Ian Fleming had intended. Sean Connery was the ruthless and suave Agent that Fleming intended, with a laconic comment when appropriate. Always liked Roger Moores' portrayal altho' he was really just too much of a goodie goodie, so perhaps we've gone full circle with our latest Bond, Daniel Craig being the rarely smiling ruthless individual that Fleming originally wrote about.... So I'll give Dr No my vote....nothing to do with Ursula Andress of course. Mmmmm, what a beauty! |
