Had a 2.0 glsi back when they were still a current model, that liked to slide so another 100 bhp should be lively. Theres nothing like an appointment with Dr sideways to bring a smile to your face though....

I am currently back into my 80s Ford phase, (mid life crisis?) but have to say that I was never into Cosworths, well apart from the 3 Door Sierras. All the older RS models I love as well as the MK1 XR2, MK3 XR3i and XR4i. Love 2.8i Capris X to B Reg non Specials and of course 3.0S Capris in Strato Silver.

Hey Ken!

Youd get on with my bessie mate Roo (Andrew-username here is Roo).

Hes loving all things 80s Ford.I think hes next to restore an 83 black XR3i.

Owned an 85/C (C780 PPK) Strato XR3i,last of the metal bumper shape.Paid a whopping 7grand for her with 14k on her back in 87.All that hype, then "wheres the power"!!??The torquesteer used to piss me off left right and centre too,get it??

Now an XR4i with a Cosworth engine, looking standard floateth my boat.OK,well perhaps lose the awful grey XR4i interior.

The piece-de-resistance in my fantasy garage is a 105E Anglia running a Cosworth Engine and Mk2/3 Granada brakes.Would love to see if SLB ***F,which was featured in Retro Rides back in about 2002 is still about, true perfection in my eyes...

Ello John!

Roo's is an 83/A from memory.Deffo an A.

If Im thinking right, are you referring to the rear suspension being updated due to massive camber defects on previous models?

I thought that was only on the old non-injection W/X plate cars which used to sit with the fronts on an adverse and rears on a negative camber.....while stationary!!! And dont get me started on the miniscule 2 spoke steering wheels on those which used to go all glossy and gripless!

Ooh,and loving your Lago Blue Q matey, been my screensaver for 2 weeks now.Total pornage!

Steve

83 A!

And its my long term resto project in the waiting. This was it about 6 years ago and this is in now:
(well 6 months-ish back)

Its still in Scotland and has yet to make it to Peterborough but it will and then i'll begin the stripdown/assessment/restoration. I have a lot of parts gathered including a lot of the panels so i'm reasonably well prepared. Just need the space now! Anyone want to buy a Volvo 480...?

Back OT that site is pretty interesting Groom. Its a shame the photo's arent dated and a location included.
