Prices/value aren't going up. It's (ir)rational exuberance, making and worshiping money.

The car has no value. It's all about the breeding of money, not the fertility of the classic car market. It can't last forever because the motivation is wrong, the money has more value than the car. Collectors are the only ones fueling this, and they won't be happy until they have squeezed every last cent out of these things. Wish them luck..

Nice though!

Nice rare motor, is she a genuine swb? I only ask because they are so rare and most of them must be in museums and stored in some Arab sheik's warehouses in the Emirates.

I agree with missfire on this, that's a disgusting amount of money regardless of the rarity or pedigree, I think 'collectors' have an awful lot to answer for. And I'm also of the belief that motors like this should see the light of day more than once in a blue moon, and should be in the hands of real enthusiast, not people who just see the pound signs instead of what it really is. It annoys me to think about all the warehouses around the world where 'collections' of rare cars just sit there with no other purpose than being an investment like art.

Opinions on the interior????

This is an SWB advertised out of New York - was on e-bay... modified interior, white instruments, chocolate seating, I personally dont like the white on white and prefer the LWB models. Thats 2 that have popped up over here in last couple of months. Pretty expensive for a DD...

The short wheel base quattros are ugly to look at compared to the original. The original is a true classic to look at from any angle..

Regarding values, you guys are right they are fueled by greedy speculators who see the car as an investment like a piece of artwork. Put it away and sell it 5 years down the line for a made up figure that could only come out of the screwed up head of the greedy seller.

One crumb of comfort chaps i will divulge with you as most on here might remember. During the late 80's and into 1990/91 the very best E type Jags were being advertised at £100,000 pounds and some would have sold for that. Withing a few years values had halved showing that greed doesn't always pay and that as prices go up they also can come down catching out greedy owners with a nice healthy dose of the real world.

yep I agree with you two - they look like a toy, proportions are wrong , but they were made only
( in desperation ??) for one purpose.....and Audi needed 200 on the road to do that.
