Might be a not bad bet if I cover it in tar! Should be simple to work on at least.

Been for sale for a while, probably about £2-2500 over priced.

A very useful Classic....not quite sure why I like pick-ups so much, VW Caddy's, Toyota Hi-Lux, etc.
LHD not so good, but if you live up in the wilds of Scotland, shouldn't be a problem as not too much traffic to overtake I guess?

It's on the old engine, so overtaking's never going to be a consideration. Hills might be though!

Stick a Turbo-DI engine in and to be fair, it makes a lot of sense if economy's not really an issue.

6 grand to buy it, a grand to get a better engine swapped in, £600 to rustproof (http://www.rust.co.uk/hot-fog-rustpr...-list/p512929/ ) and it makes a lot of sense against buying a new one where the electrics will go pop in 3 years.

I know a lot of people who are going back to older vans on the grounds that if it rusts, you can always stick a bit back on, but when your fuel pump/turbo/flywheel goes, that's a different game.

No good round here, can't take older vans into London because of the lez. To be fair I've had 7 Transits over the years, and would not consider another, they are disposable items that have no residual value in a useful working time, so are not cheap to run at all. German stuff at least has a perception to the public of being better built, so they are worth strong money when you move them on with high miles. I do say perception mind, as I have just had to put a gearbox into one of my T5's and it has only done 100k, absolute shite.

I was thinking this the other day but it wasn't for a mk2 but for a cheap mk7 transit pick up I saw with a blown engine.
