Default New Audi S1

Soooooo........

Looks like my move to Houston has been put back for the time being and I now need to not only find a new daily for myself as I dont want another crappy repmobile but I also need to find another car for the wife as her Tiguan is due for a change at the end of April.

The Tiguan has been great, but now the twins are a lot more independent she wants something a bit more fun as prior to the Tiguan she had a viper green Scirocco 2.0 Tsi and a Mini Cooper S.

So after some test drives (beetle turbo, Golf R, Scirocco R) it looks like she wants an S1 in Yellow a bit like this one below.......

Yes I know it's not a "real" S1, but It's a heck of a beastie and as its the only production A1 with Quattro should be a lot of fun......

Before I sign the line Anyone had any dealings with one of these?

I reckon its not fit to wear the badge of "S1".

But then I am a wee bit biased.

Yes have to admit that I did say that to the sales guy, would prefer if they had come up with another badge ....... But hey as a stand alone modern car it does tick a lot of boxes ... And AMD do a remap that takes it up to 310bhp...

I also read that it is not as fast or gutsy as the A1 sport, which if i remember correctly was quattro also but is no longer produced, feel free to shout cobblers if i got that wrong

Look like something fiat have made and is a total lack of respect to the s1. Audi dont have a clue nowadays unfortunately. Driven one recently just drives like any other vag car with dame engine.

not bad for "a woman's car" - she should be grateful that you didn't steer her towards an "aygo" or some such horror!

(i'm waiting for the impending tirade from my ayrshire counterpart!)

i have seen two up here in that colour scheme - a great looking car . . .for a modern one, that is . .

It runs the same drivetrain as the special edition A1 Quattro which they only made 333 of, however the engine is the latest spec S3 which is slightly less BHP but more torque.
