Having made the tough decision to sell the shell ( now off to Ireland) from my 1986 Coupe quattro I have the following available.
Uprated 2226cc KV engine with totally rebuilt uprated head fitted with Schrick 276 cam. The bottom end was from a low mileage car that had only completed 60k miles and was inspected by Bradbury Engineering in Loggerheads prior to me fitting it. Bottom end was 'as new' and so were the bores and rings so it was given a fresh bill of health. Tony ( 4V6) on here offered to build me a head up and invariably built a masterpiece, with the intention of head mating with block. Tony went to extreme measures and produced a head that was exceptional. Fully gas flowed / polished and ported / balanced with everything replaced and then we fitted a brand new Schrick 276 duration cam ( £320!!). Tony was expecting big results from the head as he had done some work on flow rates. His initial figures suggested somewhere in the region of 160bhp so the engine was fitted back in with a Piper variable cam timing pulley, new oversize WR injectors, shimmed rebuilt metering head, new water pump and oil pump and the complete vacuum system having complete new silicone hoses. I also fitted an ally UR airbox and K&Npanel filter to enable it to breathe even better, all very important for a KV. The engine was tuned and fettled by PSI tuning in Stoke and was tuned for Shell Optimax 99ron fuel. The variable cam timing pulley enabled PSI to time the engine to +27 degrees and on a later run on the dyno at Turbo Technics in Stoke she showed 178bhp. Whilst being fully within all C02 tolerances for the MOT man. The car did loose some low down torque but hit the rev limiter very quickly and was very rev hungry but made the engine suit entirely the characteristics of the car. The engine has not even completed 1000 miles so far since going back in several years ago. It hasn't run for two years but has been turned over regularly and has had periodic oiling of the bores to keep it all lubed up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The engine is ready to go but will need tuning on re-installation into a car. I've had to give a bit of thought to price as the Schrick cam was alone £320 so I'm looking for serious offers around the £500 mark. Remember 170+ bhp is significantly more than any 10v NA five cylinder engine. Should anyone need verification of the engine head build then please contact Tony on here aka '4V6' and I'm sure he'll oblige. I also have the following available off the car Front and rear bumpers with grill inserts Front and rear bumper spats 2 x mint LH/RH head lights 2 x mint LH / RH rear lights - tinted - SOLD Front fogs x 2 - good Front indicators x 2 - good Rear prismatic strip - mint - SOLD Distributor - SOLD Metering head - shimmed and rebuilt in 2006 - SOLD 5 x WR injectors - new in 2006. - SOLD Idle stabilisation valve Inlet manifold - SOLD Throttle body - SOLD Radiator - as new Fuel tank - had Frosts repair to neck Bosch uprated fuel pump - never used Rad Fan and housing - good but needs repaint Set of clocks RHD and LHD dash plinth Heater matrix and motor Uprated clutch kit - less than 1000 miles Plug leads - less than 1000 miles There is no glass or interior available or body panels Suspension taken too as shell is rolling. Hi, I don't suppose you have the "hockey stick" black trim that goes under the passenger side headlight by any chance do you?
Thanks in advance Nige |

I do have all of the plastic black trim across the front. Would rather not split though as I'll end up with all sorts of random bits.

Hi, as a matter of interest what finally happened to the engine? Did you get it sorted?
