Why would anyone just let a car sit for 10 years without upkeep

Ok..so its too far gone etc etc, At least polish it, Make it look nice from the outside...fix the bumper and light lens. Make it into a nice garden ornament.

If that was my neighbor...id sneak over in the night with a bottle of rust treatment and brush 2nd night paint, 3rd night polish

The exact same thing happened me in 2006, used to pass this house in Dublin all the time with a red ur parked in the drive, just sitting there getting green and rotting away. Made some inquiries local and found it had been there for 5 years at the time. Called in and had this old lady tell it was her sons and he wasn't selling. So left it. Came up for sale in 2009, some guy had finally persuaded the lad to part with it, went along for a look and it was gone beyond saving. Why do people do that? My 200 in parked up in the garage since September and it's killing me to leave it there! I couldn't imagine leaving it to rot outdoors for 10 years!!!!
