Default Where to get a cheap window motor for an 80 cabriolet

I'm having a bit of trouble sourcing a new/secondhand front drivers window motor for my 1993 Audi Cabriolet and just wondered if anyone knows whereabouts I could source a cheap one from.

First of all I thought it must of been the OMG audi electric window relay problem but I tried another relay and the window is still as dead as a dodo and can hear a nice healthy click from the relay so I imagine it's ok.

Also I just wondered is it possible that there is another window motor from the VAG range that will fit if there's one that would be easier to source.

Thanks
Vince

Coupe from 1991. onwards - I'm wondering what's the difference for older models.

If I would be you, I would take existing one apart first to find out reason why it's not working. For example, my A90q had rear window motors not working just because of disuse - all the action required was contact cleaning - not connector but motor rotor contact cleaning.

Thanks MSH.
I will give it a try as I've got nothing to lose, I wasn't sure if it was a sealed unit.

On the cabs it tends to be water getting into the motors due to worn roof seals that causes them to fail.

As MSH states B4 coupe ones are the same but ebay tends to have a few cabs breaking so keep an eye on there or try Eurocaparts or German & Swedish (call them as they don't list them online) or if you have friendly local TPS try there.
