Default CQ Exhaust Options ???

Well...... having a time of it at the moment..... LOL

I could hear xaust blowing a bit, so ramps out and found what looks like original STEEL downpipe welded to Stainless system ????

Its blowing on welded joint !

I dont really want to weld it up so replacement is on the cards.

Question is..... will a new down pipe fit to the existing system ?

Or..... just buy FULL new system ?

I would strongly recommend trying to get the old one repaired in situ. If it's blowing from underneath it's simple.

Replacing the downpipe is a PITA, studs can break off in the manifold and then there's usually no option but to remove it and have it repaired.

All my downpipes, have gone there. It's where the 3 pipes are welded to the 1 pipe.
I personally don't think,it's agood idea welding. Will only blow, further around the joint(weld)and probally between two of the pipes?
I found,getting it off isn't too bad.Getting the nuts retightened,is the pain.
Getting it off,I use an impact driver, extension bars and wobbly joints. If I remember rightly, atleast one nut you can't even see and have to feel for it.
I did the job,on axle stands.I got a sore neck, holding my head up.
It would be a lot easier,to do it on ramps.

I was thinking,of getting one made up in stainless steel.

Thanks guys for replys ! I wanted a stainless down pipe but guy at Zorstec advised me against it unless i had lots of money and leave CQ with him for a week ......DREAM ON !!

I've decided to do a standard down pipe and get Rest made in stainless.
Picked up downpipe today but its SHIT quality (welding) so will Tig it up at work this week !

Pics will follow

I've run the rallyrep and the earlier CQ with Ur systems, there's a slight mod to to front box to downpipe section, but the rest fits straight up.... We've run a stock Ur 2.5" Ur system with a KV, and two 3" scorpion systems, one with the KV and one post AAN.... Which was identical beyond the downpipe fixings.

For a WR exhaust to fit under a KV CQ, the only mod is the downpipe to system flange where the Ur system will need to be extended up to the CQ downpipe..
