Default TDI Troubles

Got a problem with my 80 tdi After changing the heater matrix for the second time (and it still aint right ) the engine check light has come on (it comes on a minute or so after ive started the car)

The codes that have come up are

00550 start of injection regulation
00526 brake light switch

Don't know if its coincidence or related to me doing the matrix????
After doing some research I found people had both these codes come up together but I never found out the cure.
Been on the ross-tech website and found things to check but so far nothing has worked.

The car had been run on veggi oil? before I got it so I changed the fuel filter, checked all the electrical connections. removed the ecu from its holder thinking it would have a pipe attached to it for boost/vacuum and I had trapped it but there is no pipe on the ecu.

Has anyone experienced this or got some suggestions.

Pimpdriver did the car ever so this when you owned it?

Nothing. It was run on veg oil for a bit but not for more than a few tanks. Also used biodiesel for a few tanks too.

I stuck the boost gauge on it, did you keep it or did you remove it and blank the connection?

Is it sorted now?

yeah that's all sorted, I had to take it to a garage when it was there I thought the one thing I hadn't checked was the engine fuses. Turns out one fuse was blown and they said the belt was a tooth out!!!!! don't know if they just said that
Anyway its going alright now but I have noticed it does sometime doesn't idle nice

Give it a good few shots of red x / diesel injector cleaner in the tank if veggies been used.

Also, have a look at the return fuel pipe from the injector pump, fit a clear plastic pipe if its not fitted already, have a look to see that there are no air bubbles in it when your having the idle issues.

Also worth checking the injector pipes to see if there is any weaping or wet areas.
