Default If the seat fits!

Hi all! Just in the door and I'm looking for some info! It's to do with the seats that are fitted to the mk1 coupe gt. Maybe it's just me, but I don't find the seats in the coupe gt to be Audi's best. As a matter of fact, the head rest is only good for one of those African tribeswomen that have all the rings around their elongated necks as that would be about the only way to reach it. In other words I think that my head will come off if someone crashes into the back of the car. So, can someone please tell me what other seat will fit my Audi?

p.s. I have tried a seat from the Audi A6 M-reg, but the runners were just too wide at
21". My coupe is around 19".

Regards

Welding is for noobs who have nothing to do/have too much money

What's "mk1" coupe GT? B2 coupe?
Real way how to get nice seats for B2 is very simple - get B3/B4 seats, backrest can be swapped, but for seat must exchange it's frame - very easy thing to do Don't know about A6's seats, I just know that A8's seats have the same width as B3's

Picture of one latvian's B2 A80 GTE 1.8 20vt quattro seats. Used to be in B4, as far as I remember.

Thanks for the replies.
Yep, I think that welding is the way to go.
As for the Coupe GT it's a B1 and not a B2 and the seats are a different size, so the B3/B4 seats don't fit either.

Were those seats recovered by Stevie Wonder?

Hi firstdoc1

I didn't think there was a B1 Coupe?

What year is it?

B2 cars (1979-1986/8 for Coupes) have (I think) the same seats as:

Mk2 Golfs
Seat Toledos

I got a mate in Bristol who fitted Toledo seats to his Mk2 Golf. He is "Diamond Hell" on here.

There wasn't B1 coupe. Do u mean typ81[1979-1983]? There is no difference.

And u can verify this very easy - only tools needed to disasemble seat - pliers and flat screwdriver.
