Default Electrical problem with the cd player

Hey everyone I have recently brought a new cd player for the car as the other one has had it. But I've connected it all up and for some reason its not powering up. I did take it back to halfords and got it tested so it all works fine. I have looked at the fuse box and nothing has blown in the car. It wreckonise that the cd player is there when you open the door but just won't power up. I don't know if the power connecters have blown or what's going on. But have tried connecting the different power cables on the stero together and still nothing. But when I opened the door to see if the noise still goes of when you leave your head lights on for example and nothing happens.

I don't know if anyonee would be able to give me advice on this but this has thrown me.

it made the sound of the cd player was on, like if you leave your lights on in the car it made the same noise. If that makes sense.

So, the lights on/power drain buzzer recognises that there is something connected and switched on, which is drawing current.

Is there anything showing in the display? Does the new player light up?

Yeah thats it, I know this does sound silly but its the only way of describing it.

No you don't get anything from the player, its dead with nothing lighting up. The 2 main power connectors go in the cd player fine. I just don't know if I have missed anything as I even taken out all the fuses from the fuse box just to make sure nothing has blown and nothing has.
