Default amplifier

Hi. I am really stupid when it comes to car audio, so I am about to buy front speakers (16cm) for my C4 Audi and also run Suboofer (Sony Xplod 12-Inch) at the back. Speakers are 240w max (120rms) and sub is 1200W (300rms i think). I am thinking about not running rear speakers at all, or leave original and run from unit.(any opinions on this?)
Can anyone suggest good, affordable(I know it doesn't work together) amp?

Speakers : http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/5147487.htm

Thanks

If you want to have front speakers and a sub on a amp you will need a four channel amp and a head unit with at least two preouts. Don't get sucked in to watts mean power, you are looking for frequency ranges and crossovers which will bring the sound together.
More than happy to advise more if you want??

Might be just the job if you are on a budget but if you can I would try and buy the best you can.
My old Audi 200 I was running old school Infinity speakers and a Soundstream amp.
The last install I did was on a barn door splity and that was full of JL Audio which sounded good.
It's all down to taste, some like all bass and others are into all top end.

If you can afford something a bit more then go for it. Get good speaker cable, power leads and RCA cables.
Don't forget if you buy crap and there is interference it will be amplified by the time it comes out the speaker.

I am on budget tbh, been putting too much into my old cow My subwoofer isn't high end, nor are the speakers, so correct me if I'm wrong, no point of getting £250 amp.

I am after a decent set

Unless you spend lots on decent gear and setting it up right, it's generally pot luck inside a car with sound absorbing seats and reflective windows. In my B3 saloon I had a sub in the boot and added tweeters to the front and kept the stock speakers. It sounded crisp with a mellow bass end, the same setup in my B4 Avant is quite flat but with a thuddy bass end. My Passats standard system has awful, boxy bass.

Keep the good stuff for your living room

No point at all mate, if you are on a budget then go for it and enjoy

If like me it grips you, once you start then you might not be able to stop
The first thing I had was a 3D Super Woofer in the back of my beetle running off the battery under the seat.

I am not saying speakers are bad in my C4, better then in my dad's '01 plate Octavia. But I want something a bit better, so decent speakers with sub should do. I am making 'spare wheel well sub enclosure' for subwoofer.

That's how I really got into it, having sounds inside and then wanting it in the car. That's why the Super Woofer ended up on the back seat.
Then I spent thousands in doors...... And then thousands in the cars
