Default Anyone near Stoke know how to tune VAG engines?

Ive got my Audi 100 up and running after changing the head but cant seem to set it up properly. The dizzy needs timing up and the carburettor needs fettling. I have to confess that ive never done "tuning" before... Ive always left it to someone else to do!

Is there anyone near Stoke on Trent who can help out in exchange for beer tokens?

The engine is an 1800cc 8V 4 cylinder Volkswagen engine with a Keihin carb (I think, the carb as taken from an Audi 80S). At the moment theres flat spots and spluttering. Very annoying....

Can anyone help/advise?

I'd personally try psi tuning.

www.psituning.com

They are on Parkhouse Ind Est West in Newcastle

The guy has worked on Dubs and Audi's for donkeys years and know them inside out.
Their rates are very good as well.

Finished work early and popped round to PSI tuning for a chat about my 100.

What a place! Its clinically clean inside the garage area and the waiting area is very smart. I felt very out of place sitting down in my soiled hi-viz jacket and oily jeans, lots of tasty motors about but it seems PSI also do alot of work on minicabs, there were a couple of skoda octavias on the ramps on my visit.

I did feel a little self conscious with my dirty Audi 100 which I bought for £75 surrounded by highy polished and modded machinery but the receptionist was very nice. No snobbery here . As I was explaining the work I needed doing she wrote it all down and really seemed to know her stuff, although she did seem a little wary of me.. maybe with my rough clothes on she thought I was some kind of ferral tramp type? LOL!

I told her that PSI had come highly reccomended by the Classic Audi forum. Yes they have heard of us!

Anyway the audi is booked in for thursday for a full tune up.... or was.
My boss has just rang me "Hi Tim, change of plan, your on a night out tomorrow down Southampton" So looks like I wont beable to drop the Audi off Thursday morning as arranged. Ill have to ring up and cancel! Such is the life of a lorry driver!

I drive for a small haulier based in Stoke. We pull our own trailers and other comanies trailers. Heres my unit under the trailer of a new customer of ours. Its good that while many hauliers are going to the wall due to the credit crunch, our company, thanks to our new prestige client with their swanky trailers will be going from strenght to strength.

Whaddaya think??
