I managed to swap my old coupe boot and bonnet for a fiber glass spoiler from some nice bloke from Lanarkshire.
However, due to the rules and regs with the MSA for hill climbing I dont think I would have got away with it, so I cut about 3" from the sides and glassed it back together.
Is around 1kg lighter than the standard.
But Im not sure the scrutineers will be convinced its the same as "factory" as it got a good rake on it and its still a bit taller.
So my next plan is to fit the spoiler from a GT, the flat one(thanks Emjay), which should be lighter still.
Gona have a go this weekend and will taks pics of the er, 3rd spoiler,

Very cool but looks a bit tight and worrying to be doing that in a nice car

The next meet is in April,
Few parts to be fitted before then;

Poly wishbone bushes
Solid subfame mounts
Heavy duty strutt top mounts
Front strut brace
Air freshener

Going to keep the standard springs I think, I may even run with standard tyres again,
I think there is some thing satisfying with doing a MSA hill climb event and driving to work the next day in the same car

For weight saving speed, I'd bin it completely, the bald, no spoiler bootlid will be just fine for downforce at hillclimb speeds... A set of softer compound tyres will be far more benificial than a surfboard spoiler... Reduce weight, add grip... Aero is very limited unless you go totally mad (beyond s1e2 spec) at Hillclimb speeds...

edit... And.... the first things on the Aero list should be preventing air under the car, and smoothing its passage over the front end...

I can acually feel the extra drag at higher speed with this on !
I am going to try and fit the flat type spoiler from the GTs, this way its light, minimal drag and it should pass scrutineering as it will be a "silhouette" of a original car.

The MSA rule book is a bit strange with sprints/hill climbs for production class;
Your allowed to change every pannel to carbon fiber or palstic but you need to keep the back seats in .
Your not alowed to change the silhouette of the car or add any aerodynamic aids but you can compleatly change the fuel system, oh and run on methanol

Tyres are my biggest headache at the mo, I would like to take you advise with the Toyo tr1 or 888 but A=quite expensive B= cat find them in 195,60,14 or 195 55 15

Tempted with Maxsport Rb5 (which are very good and cheap) but if it rains over that weekend they would be a waste of time ????????????????????????

Eddy, if you can, get a set of 888's...T1R's are great all rounders, but on a hill, you'll need a soft set of 888's...Even knackered 888's will be better on a hill....

What if it rains ?

I have to drive 40 miles on the road to get to Doune and I don't want to swap wheels over.
I would be a bit worried the 888 would be sh@t in the wet ?

The other option was continental sport contact as they have quite a soft compound ?

Isimmo,
I am thinking of putting the origial 14" ronlas back on for the summer/hill as they are very light but limited tyre choice, or,
Do you think this is best instead of the 15" fitted from the b3 ?
