Wink Quitting smoking tobacco.............

Hi folks,

I'm sure most of you will find this as strange as I do/did.........

I have been a smoker for 22years, a heavy smoker at that, I have been smoking Golden Virginia tobacco for the last i'd say 5 years anyway, as I could not keep up with a 30plus a day habit with regular cigs.

I happened to be out for lunch in a cafe last week (for a full irish breakfast) lol, and reading a newspaper there came across an advert for one of those e-cigs. A gimmick i assumed, but at £20 delivered with the alleged equivilent of 240 cigs, I decided to give it a go.

So wed morning it arrived.......

I have to admit I was pleasently surprised, the only downfall is (well maybe its just me being virtually a chain smoker) the equivileent amount of cigs was greatly exagerated. I estimate the 240 was closer to 140, and there is a 4 hour wait on the single battery I got to charge.

In all fairness, in between charges I did not want a real cig, and by saturday, the real cigs I was smoking during the charge cycle where starting to disgust me.

So me being me, decided to do some google searching to see where I could get another battery or 3 and cheaper refill cartridges, only to find that there is actually a massive community of people growing on a daily basis.

Some of which havent smoked real tobacco in 4 plus years. To me this is pretty awesome, as I have tried everything and never managed to stay off the cigs for any length of time, in actual fact I had long since given up on giving up.

Anyway after some long talks and plenty of reading and advice from others that have chosen this path and stayed off the stinkies I have got a proper kit, and so begins my journey to stop smoking tobacco.

Hopefully a step in the right direction lol.

Anyway, just though I would share!

Dan.

I was out in Asia for a fair bit of the 3years from 2008. Cigars became a necessity as well as a pleasure. Olfactory assault is NOT the invasion of old industrial buildings.

Having been to Cuba in the last year, it became evident why there are sufficient Cuban virgins upon whose thighs cuban cigars may be rolled. It also explains why certain brands of cigars are more wrinkly than others.
Some of these 'girls' are robust in ways that hummers can only dream of.

As we are in a sharing mood!

Good for you if you can quit and keep it going, patches and nhs support worked for me, went to see nurse at my dr's got a months supply of patches on prescription (cheaper that way), got the dossage a bit too high to start with then was ok eventually forgot to the things on of a morning and that was it.

Like most ex smokers there are times when you feel like having one but you don't have the craving that you do when you smoke.

good luck it ain't easy but i guess you know that already.

good luck on quitting the weed. I tried all sorts and failed. Managed it in the end by downloading a little ticker counter thing and making a big comittment on here to make myself accountable.

Been quit 4 years now and learnt that ultimatley it's in the mind. If you want to stop you will find a way. It takes the body about 8 weeks for the brain to wean itself off the nicotine which is the addictive part, and the routine cigarette stops. After that you are pretty much home and dry.

Got my life back in so many ways and now I have two classic cars to play with from the money I saved. I still consider myself a smoker..the only difference is I choose not to partake

Good luck

I tried the electric fags about 3 months ago. There's a small shop in our local town that sells a variety of flavours!
I bought one of the Totally Wicked Titan tank kits. Used it for about 3 weeks, but it's just not the same! Clothes don't have that horrible smell afterwards and you don't stink of fag ash!

I'm not a heavy smoker by all accounts, but a smoker non the less so this seemed a sensible option. It was weird at first when you inhale on an e-fag as you still get that 'hit' and you get a mouthful of vapour which does look like smoke, just rather odourless.
