Default Looking for British Audi V8 Ads

Hi everybody,

guys, I'd need your help. I was told that there should exist some very nice Audi V8 print ads from back in time when the Audi V8 was sold in the UK (1990-1993). The ads are UK-specific, hence I can't get hold of them here in central Europe. It's easy to find reports, but nearly impossible to find any print ads on Ebay.

Hence, I'd ask everybody of you who owns old UK (and other non-German) (car) magazines from back in 1989-1993 to grab them and browse through them looking for print ads showing the Audi V8. In case you find one, I'd be really happy if you could make a scan or photo or, after negotiation, send me the ad or magazine for a fair price via snail mail.

I'd be really happy if you could help me on that thing!

Looking forward to your replies and best regards

Bastian

Hi Bastian.

Have you tried looking on ebay.co.uk?

Or even on Audi's main website within their "history" section perhaps?

Hi,

I have visited audi.co.uk a couple of times and never came across an Audi V8 ad being UK-specific. Too, I browse ebay.co.uk on a regular base and buy magazin from time to time, but the problem is that there are no specific offers for advertisings, rather for articles about the car. From those I have maybe more than one hundered in the meanwhile (internationally), but hardly any ads.

So if anybody of you finds time to quickly browse through his collection of old magazines, it would really be of great help!

Thanks a lot and best regards

Hi,

well, flying over from Vienna to Birmingham (where our first RHD V8 ist from, by the way...) and browsing through a couple of dozens magazines would be a lot of fun, but I guess it would be cheaper to simply buy all available magazines in at ebay.co.uk

Seriously, I fear that's a bit out of scope at the moment. Does nobody of you own old UK car magazines?

Best regards

I would imagine Beermonster ( no longer on this site, but on quattroforum) might have something. He's a bit of a magpie for that sort of thing, on type 85. But he's also got his hands on some type 44 stuff, too.

I've got a few but sadly no swaps. To be honest, you seldom see any for sale even by dealers.
Plenty of type 43, type 44, 80's 90's, coupes and quattro's but it's very seldom you see anything on the V8.

I have the large one which is similar to A3 size which came with my V8 when I bought it which by all accounts is a very rare brochure.

Hi,

thanks for the links and thanks for the info, Coxy.

I fear you misunderstand me, still - I'm not looking for brochures. I have tons of brochures here, including all the ones from UK shown on the links (both single and the folders), I have mostly all US brochures, the Dutch ones, Swedich, French, and sincerely absolutely _all_ German ones ever produced. Additionally, I have maybe more than 100 print articels from magazines all over the world. The stacks pile up to a height here making my girlfriend going crazy.

No, I am not looking for brochures nor for articles about the V8. I am looking for common print ads about the car, which could have been printed pretty much everywhere, as well in daily newspapers. But those are impossible to be found, hence I concentrate on car magazines.

So if anybody of you owns old car magazines from the years 1989-1992, could you please have a look into them if you find an Audi V8 ad (commercial, advertising, promotion) in them? Usually it's only one page and I know it's nasty to browse through the magazines, but I have no other possibility as I can't buy tons of magazines in order to maybe find one or two ads...

I'd really appreciate any help on this!

Thanks and best regards

Bastian

Nobody?

It would be really as easy as going down to the cellar, taking a bunch of old car magazines and browse through them, quickly. Come on guys, it's a nice trip to the past and, alongside, it would be a great favor! If it's about the amount, stick to the ones between 1990 and 1992. 30 months, that's nothing!

And it doesn't have to be for nothing, I'd seriously pay for an ad if that's a motivation!

Regards

Bastian
