Might it be an idea if you put out a list on here of the unique parts so that we can all keep an eye out? Many eyes and all that!

I was unfortunate enough to see two little t"*ts nicking an old girlfriends car. They had just got it hotwired when I started running after them at 4am in nothing but pants wielding a f*!k off great kitchen knife! I didn't even like the car that was nicked and I was livid so I can only begin to imagine how gutted you must feel.

We'll help you however we can.

Hope they do Andy, but i had the same thoughts when my 1987 UR got stolen. But 17 years later it still hasnt turned up.Showing stolen on insurance sites.
With the amount of cameras these days it should be easy to track a stolen car,but the simple fact seems to be that there isnt enough police and when they turn up they dont have enough power to sort scum.
This is reality, our country is great in so many ways but in other ways it stinks.

Yes that is a risk. But it'll be up to the owner to decide whether the risk of that happening is greater or lesser than the opportunity with having a load of members aware of what to look for.

Perhaps keep some unique parts to themselves?

Only the scrap parts are not uniquely marked so they might make 50 quid and to be honest if anyone who advertises audi parts is likely to be known to someone on the forum..

No disrespect meant to our Polish or Lithuanian community by my comment's, this was something that was something thats was mentioned to me by the police.

Been in contact or visited every scrapyard in my area and called pretty much everyone I can find, car was last seen about 20 miles south of my place so inreality it could have gone anywhere.

Parts to look for if they appear on E-bay;

G-max suspension kit
Stainless Steel exhaust, 2" bore
Drilled and grooved discs' with EBC greenstuff pads
Standard 14" Ronals (bit scruffy but ok with good matching tyres)
Mint Quartz/Anthracite Interior (driver's seat is like new)
Front subframe, powder coasted, with new wishbones, ball jonts, bushes
Mint headlights
Mint smoked tail lights
Boot lid with colour coded spoiler (Lago blue (Y6Z))
Doors, wings etc all in good condition (Lago blue (Y6Z))
Clear glass (windscreen with top tint) reg number D725 GYR is etched on all glass.

Would be appreciated if any of these parts come up, and you have any doubts about the source you let me know so I can check it out.

Cheers
Andy
I posted up this list a few days ago, the shell is also a non-sunroof. I used to work in a scrapyard many moons ago, so in addition to the Smartwater system thats all over the car, I have also marked every component so if its spotted I can identify it.

Thanks for all you thoughts, help and advice folks it is really appreciated....

cant believe they're not honouring the agreed value.
when you take out a policy, you say a value, they agree to it. thats it!

As obvious as this may sound, if not already been said, i would be checking ebay every 10 mins. I am off to St helens in the morning for some BMW parts at a scrap yard, I will check it out while there. I am off to my workshop to make sure my baby is still where I left her.
