Yes. The autocheck is a simple Wheatstone circuit - two short silver lands each carrying the current for one bulb with a comparator circuit. Just bend the 'K' pin flat to disable it.

Best source of high-powered bulbs is Ring - specifically the R590 series manufactured primarily for combine harvesters and NOT road-legal. But if you fit new headlight lenses and adjust them properly you'll have no problems - I once had eight roadside discussions with you-know-who in six weeks and not one of them mentioned the lights.

My old coupe gt had around 640 watts total power with them all on when run in that manner and they were the quad light units.
No way could they ever be said to be underperformers when so modified.
Thing was like a mobile lighthouse when they were all on.....
