I've got a 3.6 V8.
Cracking cars and mine will get 30mpg on a run. Coming back from Haigh Hall Wigan to Wolves in August, I got 31.7mpg. Very nimble as well for such a large car. That one in the link looks like a good example. The BBS aren't the correct ones though as I'm pretty sure the BBS wires for the V8's were 16's. Well, mine are unless his are off a BMW?? |

What seems strange on further investigation is that this car is also for sale here: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C253146# and here: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C262785# at two separate prices! (£1695 and £3500)

I took a look at the car a few days ago. It's in pretty good condition internally. Seems straight outside. Underbonnet is clean and tidy.
I didn't get a chance to take it for a run yet. It's got no fuel in it. On SORN, parked in a lorry yard. Major issues requiring immediate attention before becoming financially prohibitive- Front and rear. There is rusting on the front upper left, and rear upper right, around the windscreens seals. I cannot see how these could be repaired without taking the glass out, headlining out, and making a proper repair. (I'm awaiting an estimate from a bodyshop). And so a roof panel respray minimum. If left to go any further, it would be a major issue. I'm not sure about how that would affect future MOTs (it has a new MOT), but from the point of view of keeping the car viable, it's necessary. Minor issues. A few minor scrapes and scratches on the paint. I've not seen it in daylight, dry, though. Small noise from front of the engine. I'd be inclined to look at the timing belt- it's just had all the belt/rollers etc. But best be safe. Oil looks clean and correct level. Gearbox oil was dipped by me, but uncontrolled- the transmission wasn't up to temp, so it's not conclusive. Overall. A nice car. Seems genuine. But the Roof rust would need attending to.

Hi, I bought one earlier this year knowing nothing about them but liking the sound (literally) of a v8 and 4wd and of course the quality. Its just a "toy" and so doesnt get used a huge amount but so far its been trouble free and a pleasure to drive... Its a big heavy motor and no "sports car" but can shift when it needs to. MPG on mine is mid twenties on a run...
Must admit mine has no rust anywhere except on a front wheel arch where it had been badly repaired some years ago.... As ive not had mine long i cant comment on running costs but ive heard they can be rather steep to put right... Good luck ... |
