Rare is right, it amazes me that there wasn't even half an attempt to clean that before putting it on ebay!
When i was in school (the first time round lol) an older friend of mine had a metro turbo, what a truely awful little car, but boy did it go!!
It used to scare the school lunch out of me, how we where never killed in that i will never know lol!

Scrap when new, scrap now. Possibly minus the 's' at the beginning if each word 'scrap'.
Even Tickford Capris weren't that great (apart from being turbocharged), all angular bodykit and shoulder pads 

Probably for fear that the dirt is holding it together, or at least plugging any leaks.
Save the badges, scrap the mutt.
