I had one of these on a '85 B2 80 many years ago and again on a 1.8 Scirocco GT that replaced it. It was a wonderful carb, giving over 40mpg easily.

If it aint broke.......
But if you have a spare £200 lying about, go for it. They are sooooooo much more responsive.
