Default a little advice/Help

right then, as some of you may have read i have been having a "little" trouble with the TD5 in the 4 months ive had it, and also i dont need it for work anymore. So its time for it to go

HOWEVER,
im stuck on what car to replace it with, heres the need list

diesel
40MPG +
under 100k miles
look good on driveway (no pikey old 405 Diesel)
must be more than 130BHP
good sized boot (kid on way and loads of work stuff when staying away)
must be good on motorway
have half decent ground clearance for getting into a field (normal height not low)
most of all it MUST be reliable
budget of £5000 max

ive looked into the saab 95 as i loved my last one, however the 3.0TD has bore liner problems and the 2.2's are woeful.

i defy any first time mother to fit...a baby..herself...the 'stuff' and a driver, in a golf.. no way, too small. i think the art of not taking ten times as much 'stuff' as you actually need for a baby is an art learned over many years..

i'd say volvo xc70/90 ....then i read the whole list of requirements..

jap. may be the way to go..? warrior crew cab..?

thanks for the quick replys guys, my wife currently has a A3 TDi which is going to be used as the family car as well, the X trail is a big no no, i dont need that much clearance, and i would imagine 40MPG is very hard to achieve tbh,

as for the volvo, sadly ive had one before and it was horrific, injector problems costing thousands, and eating suspension bushes,

do you think i could get a half decent A6 tdi avant for that money?

formentioned crappy volvo

once bitten and all that

Just get a 1.9 tdi A6 avant like Coxy.

A4 is SHOCKING legroom for the kid when they are in forward facing seats.

Don't piss about, just get the proper job car straight off.

Or a T4 Caravelle and enjoy the "scene" (only does 35mpg though).
