Spent the better part of the day in the garage cleaning it out and organizing it for the spare 780 Bertone, then swapping reluctant parts from car to the other. Gave blood so it all worked out in the end.

Just settled in for the evening with a pre-dinner ( burgers on the grill, chiabata rolls and fontina cheese) tipple. Glenlivet Archive 21. Heavy hitting but smooth, reserve single malt.

The little goblins will be ringing the bell for treats momentarily.

The Walking Dead series premieres tonight on our AMC channel. Looking forward to it.

Happy Halloween Everyone

Matt

dub, which version is this?

I've had the black boxed, main bottling.
I don't recognize this grey box.
Madeira? Sherry?
The link suggested "Peated"

PLEASE review it for us.
Love this companies main whisky from the moment I tried it.

So, its been a while, and I thought I should chime in on a new whisky for the cooler months before the summer inferno. At this years Whisky-a-Go-Go, the new whisky I brought home was an addition to the small Edradour line. I have bought 3 or 4 bottles of their 10 yr. Highland Single over the years.

This year I picked up a bottle of their Port Cask Matured. This whisky spends its ENTIRE life in a Port cask, thus the ruby color. The nose is incredible, delicate and complex, with overlapping hints of thorny berries ( raspberry, black, marion etc) a touch of currant and a little spice. Somehow in all this the taste still carries all these notes plus a hint of cream without loosing its crispness. A lengthy finish and a classy dram of whisky.

At $70-75 US this is a keeper.
My research suggests multiple batches, only the 3rd has received less praise.
The batch number is printed on the front label.

Cheers

I went up to Aberlour a few years back to look at and attempt to fix an early ur-quattro.

It was in a garage with a really sad story - the owner was past retirement age but had been keeping on in the hope his son would one day awake from a decade-plus coma resulting from a moto-cross accident. The place was being deliberately run down for potential sale and the car's owner was a family friend.

I went twice - once for a recce, once for the fixes once all the parts had been found. A huge place - three two-post lifts, one four-post, two massively long inspection pits, every conceivable tool.

I noticed a dark shape in the corner and asked about it. The owner said: "Oh, that's mine." A very early car with cable differential locks. We talked about it for a bit - on the second visit I found it stripped in the paint shop and on its way to rebirth.

They have a local festival that I can't find in the tourist authority list. One day a year they get a field declared as 'bonded' - £5 admission and no tax or duty.
