There's making a profit and there's ripping people blind (bit like the banks). Unfortunately, making as much money as possible has taken priority over any form of decent or acceptable human behaviour to those most vulnerable in many circles these days

I wouldn't bother entering an old car into WBAC.com Thats not their market,so I wouldn't bother, after all how much do you think they'd offer for my 18 year old Lancia- not nearly as much as I was offered last weekend
Now I'm no way connected and don't endorse them but a neighbour emigrated to Australia last year. She contacted WBAC.com about her 2 year old Toyota avensis and they made a low but fair offer. As she didn't want to pay to advertise in Autotrader etc and have the hassle of the usual tyre kickers coming round (if they actually turned up) so she happily accepted and had the deal completed in a couple of days.
You see, some people are happy with the service they offer

I put in the details of my 2.6 Coupe about a month ago out of curiosity. I bought it for £900 in October last year when I had got a Parkers valuation of £1,200. We Buy Any Car came back with...£250!!!

Got hit by another vehicle in December and even the insurance valued it at £850.

Even if I was desperate for cash, I'd never sell my car there. (To be honest I'm not sure if I'd ever sell it anyway!!!)

They are not interested on old cars, hence the F**k Off quotes.

They want cars less than 5 years old which they can sell on quickly through Welcome Finance.

well, since I'm as daft as you lot i entered my Lancias details in and they offered me £7500.
Not bad, but I think it was about £17000 short of what i have been offered
Not surprising though, they're not a specialist car dealer so I wouldn't expect them to know the real value so I'm not offended

why are they rippping people off?

They make you an offer, you accept it or reject it simples! they're no different to any other car buyer, me and you included who will buy a car for as low as the seller will go to

If you don't like the offer there's loads of other ways to off load your car (autotrader, scrap yard), if you do then that's your perogative.
