Not a very pleasant subject this one, so I'll refrain from any smart-alec comments for a change
I've just had a long, heated, chat with my Father on the subject and I wondered if you have made a will or not, and if not, what were your reasons?

Should do it.

"not got time".

"not got £2-500 spare".

"I'm too young to die".

All stupid reasons.

Should do it for the 4 kids sake.

Did get no1 birth re-registered though (born before marriage, although all 4 kids are ours).

Divorced you better do one.. If you have children do one.. If you don't like any of your family do one..
If you have a lot of money do one..
If you have no money do one..

You should ALL DO ONE..

Unsurprisingly it's my father who hasn't made one.
His reason that he's not got anything to leave isn't the point- it's about making sure his wishes are carried out and making sure that those he loves aren't left to sort out the mess at a time when they're least able to do it.
Falling on deaf ears though

There will be a lot of s*it if he does not do one and most of it will be with the Government.

All we want is:

If I die, Wife gets everything.

If Wife dies, I get everything.

If we both die, kids get everything (but "in trust" until they are 22 or finished Uni or whatever).

I made a will out after becoming a widow in 2002. So if anything happened to me all my affairs would taken care of. It was for my Daughters sake as she was only 9 at the time and on my Dad's recomendation.
