couldnt say for sure but i had driven one a long time ago and the gearing was quite long
so it wont be bad, might be the same as the 1.8ds if not better

PARKERS PLUS+ has it down as 25-38 mpg which is strangely less then the 1.8 which it
has down as 29-46 mpg,
But it also states that there was an option of a 4+E gearbox for the 1.6cl model

The DS 1.8 was more economical overall, especially over a 4 speed box CL, but both are entirely dependant on the type of use and driving style.

Same deal with the B4/B3 - my B3 16V is more economical than my old B4 1.6SE - coz you had to use the powerband in that to make any decent progress !

I would expect any B2 to beat the economy of the B3/B4 due to their much lighter weight

Ah well that's good to know, maybe I'll stick with what I've got!

I forgot all about the gearbox being 4 speed aswell!

Similar.

I have it in my 80CL.

34-39mpg with a Weber.

And the 4th gear is like 4.5th.
