TDi engine block compatibility (B2 80)

Hey,

I'm going to put a TDi engine into my '86 80 GL but would obviously like to make my life as easy as possible.

Can anyone confirm whether or not later passat (B5) engine blocks can be bolted up to the B2 engine mounts or would it be easier to start with a B4 80 TDi engine?
