Default Typ85 with 7a engine? Bags of questions..

Right, I'll be hopefully getting a 90q soon, and I want to put a 7a 20v in it (can't affort a 20vt just yet).

Are the engine mounts the same between Typ89's and 85's?
Will the 85 box bolt up to a 7a?
Would I be right in thinking the 7a is essentially the same as the 6a with an extra cylinder?
What spark/fuel management do they use?
Would whatever system it uses control the spark independently if I were to go carb?
If not is there any kind of dead basic spark management off another 5 pot I can use (I'd rather not use megajolt or similar, simpler the better)?

Ta!

Engine mounts are the same.
Yes the typ 85 box will bolt to the 7a but you will need a UR WR flywheel and clutch and a spigot bearing for the back of the crank.

Not sure on the 6a question I would not think so.
I think it is hitachi
No you would need to run VEMS, 034, motec etc
Not that I can think of.

Brilliant, thanks!

So will the 7a engine and box mate up to the 85 prop? I can imagine sourcing quattro bits won't be easy or cheap...

What about front driveshafts? Not essential since I plan on converting to RWD until I can afford big power

And how are u going to achieve this - center diff mod with welding equipment or simply removing front driveshafts and hoping that centre diff lock will work infinitely?

Weld up the center diff and bin the front shafts
